1.Which Body style is good for OPEL VECTRA 1996? 4-door saloon,? 5-door hatchback,? 5-door estate?
2.What do you know about this car.
If you know any thing please help.

OK

I had a 1998 Vectra 5-dor Hatch.
If you are buying a '96 now I assume it is very good value....
Over time these are not the cheapest cars to run and have a high insurance group.

The most flexible body style is the estate..but it is a little heavier and uses more fuel than the hatch or saloon. The saloon on the other hand will not take awkward objects in the boot very well.
I think the hatch was the most poular because it gave a best of both approach.

You should probably go for the highest spec you can afford and stay away from the smallest 1.6 engine it can't really cope with the car.

There are some things to watch out for. Especially around the engine.
There is a common issue with a build up of deposits causing the EGR valve to not work properly.
The car will stall from time to time and the rev's drop very quickly. This is important as if this is not working the car may also fail its emission test. There are also issues with various engine sensors...

Make sure you know when the cam-belt was last changed. If this snaps on most engines it will cost alot to fix....

When buying an old car it is worth checking the simple things like tyres and brakes as replacing all of these could cost you as much as the car !
Check that the power steering is not leaking either. You will need to look carefully at each end of the steering rack etc....this can cost alot to fix. check all the electrics..windows etc....

The car is usually a solid buy...not too exciting but reasonably reliable. An alternative is the Ford Mondeo, These cars are good on long journeys but use alot of fuel for short city driving trips.

Good luck !
