it's like asking: which came first the human or the baby human? Well the human evolved from apes, just like chickens evolved from dinosaurs. As generations passed the dinosaur became more and more different until finally forming the chicken. So I guess there's no real answer to that question.

If you are a follower of evolution then the egg came first because the modern chicken was a mutation of some earlier bird species. If you are a follower of religious philosophy then the chicken was created first.
