I'm picking which flight to return home with from a summer camp. The shuttle taking me to the airport arrives at 10 AM and I need to allow time for security and all that good stuff.
The first option departs Kansas City at 12:50 PM and arrives in Chicago at 2:10 PM. Then departs Chicago at 4:40 PM and arrives in Nashville at 6:00 PM. That will be three hours at the airport then an hour flight then two and a half hour layover then a little over an hour flight.
The next option departs Kansas City at 5:00 PM and arrives in Nashville at 6:25 PM. That will be a seven hour wait at the airport then hour and a half flight.
Both flights arrive around the same time and I only have a half hour drive home from Nashville (my parents will be driving). Oh and I'm sixteen and have only flown once before about five years ago with my parents so we kind of prefer nonstop but are flexible. The first flight is $133 and the second is $102. I'm paying for the flight but I want to know if it will be worth it to pay an extra $20 and not sit in the airport seven hours. But I'll have to change planes with a checked bag and there is a layover and I don't arrive home until almost the same time. I'm just wondering which would be (a) safer: changing planes or remaining in the same airport for seven hours for a young girl? (b) more comfortable? And (c) worth the money?
Oh and there is not a latter shuttle. It actuallity, it is neither an airport nor public shuttle. It is a bus from the college I'll be spending the week at. They are only running one bus at 8:30 AM from Nevada, MO to Kansas City.
