thinking about switching from directv to dishnetwork because of the cost. but i hear a lot of bad about dish network in regards to picture quality. i live in a city located in north carolina. some say the picture on dish network is fuzzy, dim, etc. but as far as directv the picture is all ways crystal clear, except when there is a bad thunderstorm, it blacks out for a short time. where as i hear a light rain causes dish network to black out. so im not sure if i should keep direct or switch

All you are saying is true, I have Dish myself, and while Dish is cheaper, the signal goes at the 1st sign of rain (many times it's not even raining yet, just cloudy) and it also blacks out if the wind picks up. My mom has DirectTV, and I asked her if it was the same, and she said no. Plus, she has it pre-paid; so no contract to worry about.

i would not belive the other guy we have had dishnetwork for 8 years and never had any problems with it plus we where in hurrican ike and our dish still worked when we hooked up our gen after the rain was over that was the power was out anyways i would go with dish you can get FREE HD for life by geting a contract with them or paying a one time fee of 99 bucks dish is the way to go.
