I have recently tried out Ubuntu 8.1 linux. I can't set up internet connection. Which distro is the easiest to set up internet connection, the best would be if it automatically set up right out of box. I have a 1 year old Dell Inspiron 1502 laptop with a Broadcom modem in it. I also have a Huawei 220e HSDPA mobile internet modem (with T-Mobile Hungary being the service provider). I read that Mepis is the easiest Internet distro. What are your experiences, which do you advice to a novice Linux user.
For me Internet connection is the most important in Linux, followed by word and maybe excel, otherwise my OS usage needs are very basic, so the disto doesn't have to be the best as long as it is stable, easy to install, and connects to Internet automatically.
