Which one is better, Nintendo 3DS or DSi XL?

My Nintendo DS Lite quit working recently and I want to purchase a replacement device. I have narrowed down the system to two choices: 3DS or the DSi XL. Which one would be better? I want to be able to play the new 3DS games on it, which would require the 3DS, but I also want to have the bigger screens. Which one would be the better choice?
 
Look at the prices. Think about the future. Is it likely that there will be another version of the 3DS? I think so but maybe not until another 3 years or so. Depends I would get the XL because 3D is cool but it sounds like it gets old after a while.
 
The Obvious Answer is 3DS,

I believe if it's like it's other systems, it can:

1. Play old DS games on it (Since there's a Off switch for the 3D)
2. It's for the New games
3. IT'S THE FIRST 3D HANDHELD THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE GLASSES (not counting Virtual Boy)
