Which pellet would be better for hunting small game?? .177 cal @ 1,000 fps or a

.22 cal @ 800 fps?? Why so? I have a dual caliber Beeman air rifle that shoots both calibers out of the same gun and was wondering which one I should use to hunt with??? Same power,different size pellets... Thanks for the great answers
 
The .22 caliber has more mass and knock down power thus better for small game. I have hunted with both and the .22 is by far the better choice.
