Which phone is best for me to check e-mail and surf the internet?

I do not want a touch-screen keypad because I think it would drive me nuts. I want a phone that will allow me to surf the internet and respond to emails with ease. I am so bad with technology and phones and have no clue which way to go- iphone, blackberry, or anything else?
