Which way is cheaper for travel and vacation?

1. Go to a travel agency ? ( I know you travel agents will say your way is better ). I know its the easiest way but, I want the cheapest.
2. Do it all from the computer on sites such as Travelocity etc.
3. Do it independentely ( book hotel, flight ) by yourself.

Number 1 has advantages can can be almost as cheap, but the lowest price will be #2.

Number 3 - there is no way you have time to check all
