Which women's health issue can I discuss from political economy perspective ?
I need to write a paper on structural functionalism theory and I am supposed to have one women's health issue that can be discussed from this perspective...

any ideas ???

a few topics

-inequality of access to abortion-the function of societal values affecting limits to this option of family planning
-womens risk of AIDS in Africa - key social institutions affectig this risk
-child birth- what role should mid wives play and what are the current debates on this issue
-breast feeding: what are the institutions that have developed over the past few decades to promote this as the 'only acceptble form' of feeding babies. unintended consequences of this social development
-the rise in womens drinking patterns - health effects and social reasons why this has occurred
- who does the health work of caring for the senile aged?

Abuse, or prostitution. They both have something to do with the law, and affect the economy, I'd say Breast Cancer was a good idea, but it's more of a medical thing.
