Just for fun, I'm writing a story that makes fun of cliches and I'm trying to decide how to end it. Would it be more more cliche to have the MC's "soulmate" (that's a sparkly vampire) sacrafice himself to save the MC? Or maybe just keep it a happily-ever-after type ending? What do you think? Which is more cliche? Or maybe you have another suggestion(s)?

BQ: What color should I make the MC's soulmate's eyes? I was thinking something very vibrant and odd, like maybe emerald green. Ideas?

Either way or have them die in each others arms

Green sounds like a good color

Both. He is about to sacrifice himself, but then *something happens* (you decide) and it turns out to be a happily ever after. Because they are both cliche but the happy ending is even more so. For maximum fairytale impact, have it that he is like just lying there about to die and then the MC says "i love you" and its all that crap about her love keeping him alive...that should work!! :)

BQ- any sort of gemstone will do...

I think the sacrificing-not-so-happy ending is not as cliche as the happy ending. So I would definitely go with another happy ending. Or to be even more interesting, since it's a story making fun of cliches, you could write a happy ending and then segue into another ending which is the real ending. Meaning 'And they all lived happily ever after ... *record scratch* ... or did they?'

Then throw in that he really sacrificed himself. *shrug* that's a big cliche.

BQ: I like Lily White's answer

Both. Have him sacrifice himself to save the MC, then be revived and live happily-ever-after.

BQ: Green would be a good colour. Perhaps make them turn red when he's angry.
