can you help identify our mystery christmas gadget?

my aunt found a strange old looking gadget behind grandma's cabinet.

it has a logo on it- a silver and yellow coat of arms with a three point crown on the top and a z in the middle. also says its "made in Great Britain"

its a about 3 inches tall, 1.5 inches wide. on the top right hand corner there is a switch you can push up and down operated by a spring which is visable through a small hole on the back side. below the hole is a arrow and the words "point arrow at front left corner" . the device appears to be basically hollow, there is a small circular hole on the bottom. I know thats not much of a description but maybe someone can identify the logo?

BSR turntables

Turntables are designed to play 33 rpm or 78 rpm records. They require an adapter to accept 45's. Years ago a British company, BSR, used to manufacture turntables. The adapter they supplied with some of their turntables had the instruction "Point Arrow at front left corner" imprinted on it. Maybe that's what you have.

Here's a picture of the adapter from my BSA turntable:

Thanks a lot. We got a ton of old things from my wifes uncle after he died and this same thing was in there.
