PREDICTIONS? MANNY (30yo) 50-3-2, 38 KOs, southpaw, reach 67cm, height 5' 6.5"
FLOYD (32yo) 40-0-0, 25 KOs, orthodox, reach 72cm (2" adv), height 5' 8"

Floyd Mayweather in a VERY good fight. Pacquiao is fast but Mayweather is in a class by himself with speed. also Pacquiao is a guy you cant slug it out with which is why Cotto lost. Cotto did win the first round because he used the jab but got away from that and got beat. Cotto is a slugger Mayweather is a boxer. Mayweather will use the jab and stay with the jab. the jab is the ony way to beat Pacquiao and Mayweather has that jab.

i believe manny pacquiao because
mayweather vs marquez was a fight between 2 of the same style fighters
both were counter punchers
marquez could of won, but he wasnt aggressive and waited for mayweather to attack and payed the price, pacquiao is way different and i dont believe mayweather is ready
also, pacquiao is as fast, if not faster as mayweather, not slow or old or anything
pacquiao is in his prime, the pinical of his career
also what hbo commentators keep mentioning is that pacquiao slips punches his oppenent cant even see, hes that tricky
and finally, Freddie Roach is a big factor in this fight
to me one of the greatest trainers, he knows how to disect a fighter, finding both strengths and weaknessess, and on top of that, has a fighter who can execute it perfectly

Like I said before.............Going out on a limb. Manny has too much on his plate.

1. Political aspirations
2. Singing career
3 being moved up too fast and too soon.
4. Due for a let down.
5. Didn't like seeing him on the ropes doing a rope a dope.

Floyd by very late round TKO or split decision. Period.

pacquiao will definitely win. he has defied all conventional boxing logic:

the fight might prove more technical than anyone would expect. i think at this stage of their careers, both are very efficient counter punchers. the difference is that pacquiao could follow up with combos using weird-angled punching. forget speed-- both are fast. but pacquiao has the slight edge with his ability to utilize speed with volume punching. the early rounds will definitely look more technical than we would expect as both needs at least the first round to gauge the opponent. pacquiao however proceeds to attacking after a quick sizing up of the opponent, whereas floyd waits for the latter rounds to show aggression. note however that both fighters show aggression more as the opponent commits more mistakes.

The last fighter Floyd KOed was the defenseless Hatton. It seems not very probable that Floyd can win by TKO against Pacquiao knowing that Pacquiao can withstand the solid punches of a Miguel Cotto. Not having KOed an older fat marquez says a lot about floyd's ability to land a KO punch. again, having KOed hatton is simply a testament to hatton's lack of defense (pacquiao KOed hatton in 2 rounds).

Floyd's best strategy is to win by points. is he able to do this without engaging pacquiao? will floyd's traps be sufficient?

floyd's only true advantages over pacquiao are height and reach. but pacquiao's recent victory over cotto showed that he is strong against a true welterweight; strong with punches and withstanding punches. reach and height will therefore be easy to neutralize. at the same time pacquiao will score points by being the busier fighter and landing combination punching whenever he narrows the distance. floyd will however proceed with single potshots and will be avoiding confrontation as pacquiao stalks him. therefore the pacman will win rounds by appearing to control the pace of the fight. floyd's untested chin (as he is reputed not to get hit a lot) will finally be tested as pacquiao applies weird-angled punching with his combination throws. the fight will go the distance if pacquiao controls his patience in the early rounds. but as pacman's aggression starts to pressure floyd, we might see a knock down in the middle rounds.

Pacquiao wins by stoppage in the late rounds.
