So i got this netbook less than 3 weeks ago, and last night for no apparent reason it crashed TWICE in the span of half an hour. Once when i was toggling between an msn app and firefox, and another when i was look up available wireless networks.
The only thing I can think of thats causing the crashes is the atom processor (maybe its not strong enough to keep up) or maybe its the slow PATA drive (4200 rpm) that dell seems to only have as an option. This isn't the only time it crashed on me. The first time it did, I was on craigslist and then my screen went blank. I never do any resource-hogging tasks; the most I do is use YouTube because i know netbooks aren't power-friendly. But still, why is my system crashing only after doing simple things like switching between apps or web browsing?
Should I call tech support (yay India...) or should I just return it? (I have less than 2 weeks to do so)
i'm running ubuntu 8.04 too. you'd think it wouldn't crash as much as vista or xp but no...
