Emotional and psychological damage but not physical

It never did me any good, and I will never put my kids through what I had to go through

Honestly everyone has, whether it be from instilled religious paranoia with the bible-thumping horror story of hell or in the form of unanswered prayers. Not everyone is willing to admit it however and will stitch together a shroud of excuse in the form of "God works in mysterious ways" or "we are all just part of God's great plan." In lay men's terms its all bullshit.
