Who is the Panther's rookie QB Armanti Edwards and how good is he?

Here's loosely paraphrased media and Yahoo Draft info on the Carolina Panther's 25th pick in the 3rd Round:
Armanti Edwards from Appalachian State. 6'0'' ~ 184 lbs. Able to offer wildcat quarterback skills & an ability to create with the ball in his hands.

Hey fans:
Other than that description, what does that ''really" mean specifically on the pro level?

? Does that mean Armanti Edwards can't throw on the elite level and that the Panthers are only looking at him as a stop-gab QB when someone gets injured?

? Wildcat? How often do the pro teams heavily use the wildcat formation? ... ...NEVER! (??)

? "Create with the ball in his hands" sounds like a quarterback running, not passing.

? Not to lessen his abilities and skillset that he purportedly brings to Carolina, but is he not #5 (!!) on the Panther's QB depthchart: Beneath Josh McCown, Hunter Cantwell, Jimmy Clausen, and Matt Moore? I admit that one of these QBs might get traded to put some slack in their depth chart for Armanti, but dang, he's way down there, eh? Not to mention, Clausen is probably getting the nod long before Armanti, eh?

THE ABOVE IS MENTIONED BECAUSE AT 25th IN THE 3rd Round is nothing to sneeze at, know what I mean, and yet the guy is buried in that depth?

Panther fans have a say?
Not to disparage Armanti in any way, and I have to admit I've never seen him play. Obviously he must have skills that the Panther's coach Fox liked?

He is going to be a Joshua Cribbs type player. Kick returns and possibly a wildcat, reverse pass type player. Special teams. He was the QB on the Appalachian State team that beat Michigan. Appalachian State has been a major player on the former DII level.

my guess would be the plan to use him as something other than a qb. honestly dont know much about him but at 6'1 184 he will not b playing qb. a few teams run the wildcat btw miami cleveland and oakland just to name a few. im guessing he would be used to run the wildcat, play receiver or return kicks
