Who thinks that the Detroit lions should pick up Michael Vick?

They can get him for the minimum veteran Q.B. salary, that would get them a great talent at a bargain price, that would also help there cap issues. The guy is athletic enough to win a couple of games every year all on his own. And given how easy there schedule is going to be next year he probably has a chance to win 5 or 6 games there. Detroit could use this years draft picks and free agency to through together some real talent and try to make it gel. And let Vick use his magic to try and make them look good in the process.
He will only get a job if he is willing to renegotiate. And he wants to play in the N.F.L., So Vick WILL renegotiate. And it will be a bragain price.

If Vick has been working out and comes back with the same amount of athleticism then yes they should pick him up. If they win at least 3 games with him under center I think it's worth it

But his contract is HUGEEE

and there is no guarantee he will be reinstated.

He had accuracy problems before he went to jail, and we dont know how much his skills have diminished..

He has to overcome this nasty little problem named Roger Goodell. No way I can see Goodell reinstating him and because it came out in the court case that Vick financed the gambling part of the dogfighting that is grounds for permanent suspension. The Lions have enough image problems to overcome with their fan base because of the continious losing ways and Vick would just give the fans and media more fuel for the fire. The 8,000 on average empty seats proved to be very costly to the Ford family, signing Vick would likely cost them even more fans. But that point wont matter....Goodell has no intention of letting Vick play again, he got burned by Pacman and the league will take a very hardline stance going forward with any and all guys who cant behave.
