I mean, we have 2cm of snow, the whole country grinds to a halt and the BBC calls it treacherous Arctic conditions. My school was closed in the middle of the day because there was a 5 minute shower of snow! Don't get me wrong, I love the snow- but I reckon the media sensation is making everyone else panic.

You are so right. I have set off to work very early every morning last week, driven very slowly and some others don`t turn up or get in late! Pathetic. I noticed my local council must be running out of grit too because since last Monday they have spread less and less.
It`s been snowing here for several hours and i will be driving in to work as usual in the morning, several miles on country roads might i add!
What is wrong with everybody?

I think most people have just gotten on with it and are somewhat mystified by the media furore about it. Certainly, most of my friends and colleagues expected it to be far worse, and longer lasting than it actually turned out to be.
Media driven storm in a teacup!

And "they" say the snow creates havoc for the motorists ?
In fact, it is the motorists who create havoc when it snows !
The idiots takes their precious little cars out and block the roads cause they cant handle them on the roads.
I hate motorists !

In Chicago they don't close school for 2cm of snow, or they would never have school. But they are used to it.

Get it right-it's not the general public-it's the media.
The snow has had no affect on me at all.

I agree. It's like the whole world stops when it's snowing. I hate watching the news because it's constantly on the there 24/7.
