Why Alice in wonderland is soo different from other dinesy movies?

I love old disney movies. One of my all time favorite movies is Alice in wonderland. I have to admite its soo trippy....like the whole time the characters in the movie is on some kind of drug. idk. Any idea why this movie is soo different?
 
Probably because it was written long before Disney was even a company and it's based on a book by someone else. It was written in 1865 by Lewis Carroll. It is a really trippy movie!
 
I must agree Alice in Wonderland is so different to your average Disney film.
