Why are adults so hypocritical?

They tell us "learn from your mistakes" and then go completey out of their way to keep us from making any! We all have to live and learn and they cant seem to accept that. Parents and adults are so stunk in the mentality that they need to watch over our every move. I know its because they love us and dont want us to get hurt, but is it really better to be safe than sorry? Because i would rather have regrets than to have nothing at all.

If they dont let us out of the nest once in a while, were never going to learn how to fly.
 
Keep in mind that your parents were teenagers once too. They just want what's best for you.

I know that's not what you want to hear and it won't mean anything til you're older but it's the truth.
