Each new generation of phone on the market we seem to lose more bluetooth functionality. Most phones I come across only support audio profiles for bluetooth, and few, if any, support phone2phone media swap, and the same can be said for phone-to-pc.
I remember when I had my SE w810i. There was not a thing that phone could not do via bluetooth. You could use stereo bluetooth headset (with a software mod) and you could connect to other people's phones without needing a bt passcode.
It had remote control bluetooth on it. In school i would pair with the teachers bluetooth whiteboard and shut it off during class so she would call the tech and dismiss class.
I could pair it with my pc at home and control everything from the mouse to windows media player.
It had 100% no bs media swapping. If you had it on your phone, you could send it.
The browser was unique, it would literally download anything you wanted it to.
The camera functionality was a spectacle. Full featured editor built right into the phone.
The damn thing even had a S.O.S mode for the flashlight (which was bright as hell).
The volume on the phone sucked though, you had to mod it to increase it.
I kinda got carried away on, back on topic here.
The point being is that many older phones had nearly limitless bluetooth capabilities.
My evo, it can swap some files with my pc and use a bt headset.
Hooray.
Anyone provide some insight as to why the limitations?
