Why are girls so into fashion and makeup and all that stuff?

Why are girls so into fashion and makeup and all that stuff?
Please don't say "because guys are into blah blah blah" or "for the same reason guys are into blah blah blah"
 
Girls mature faster than boys.
Girls, therefore, feel sexually to boys earlier than when boys start feeling the same.
So at an early age, 8-14 (correct me if I'm wrong) they want to make themselves more attractive hence the fashion and makeup and maybe because their physical makeup is (forgive me) weaker or more fragile.
 
because thats what makes girls, girls.
and fashion and makeup is feminine. for the most part
 
ima gurl and i dont put makeup on, all i own is sum eyeliner, but i gotta dress krispy, so i look clean , but i do it 4 me
 
Not all are. It's sexist to assume they all are. Heck, some guys are into fashion, and I don't just mean gay ones.

Anywho, plenty are into makeup, nice clothes, etc, because that's what's expected of them. They're expected to look they're best, and it is pressed upon them by culture.
