Why are people crying about gitmo bay closing?

Come on people, more than half of the prisoners have been released. There's only 270 prisoners left. The guards have been torturing and sexually abusing the prisoners. Not all of them are guilty. This place needs to be closed down.
The U.S. locks up 700 terrorists. It doesn't even matter because 700 more will be made.
I'm not saying the U.S. should not even worry about terrorists but do you really think keeping Gitmo open will do any good?
What do y'all think?

Nobody would object to innocent people being sent home, but those who have information that could keep the US safe should not be released. The world is not safe with some of these jerks on the loose. We are not doing anyone favors by just letting them out. I don't think there is a country in this world that would give refuge to some of these people. And we don't want them walking the streets of the US or anywhere else for that matter. I think treating everyone with respect is important, but you only get respect when you give it. We always need to make sure we are doing everything possible to keep the US safe and the world for that matter.

Actually, I did find information on how poorly the prisoners there are/were treated. I don't remember where I found it, but I remember having to do a large presentation on the subject. Otherwise, I don't know enough about the prison to decide whether or not it should've been created in the first place.

I'd like to know where you get your information about guards sexually abusing and torturing prisoners... I've never heard such a thing. My guess is that the prisoners at GITMO have been treated very well, in fact probably 1000 times better than prisoners would be treated in the home countries of said prisoners.
