Why are so many fraternity traditions homo-erotic?

Err, probably? Like that one where they get the pledges to take off all their clothes and wear a dress made of bananas just screams Freudian to me.

But why do you suppose the traditions are homo erotic?
 
Maybe pent up sexual frustration coming out subconsciously.

EDIT: Being gay, or anything related to homosexuality or something non-masculine is typically seen as a weakness.. or something embarrassing. This is the point of some fraternity traditions, to be embarrassing. Whether they sit down, and plan on being homoerotic* is another thing entirely. It could be largely subconscious, a response to upbringing, etc.
 
Never heard of anything close to that, all my friends and I were in fraternities and did see that, you must have been a Sigma Chi....
