Why are the Bleach episodes cropped to 4:3 in the newest dvd?

so i recently bought the latest bleach dvd with kira on the cover and it has eps 168-179 and if im correct thats when bleach started to air in hd wich is 16:9 but the episodes are cropped to be 4 3 anyone know why and also i checked in hulu and the episodes are cropped untill episode 266 i think
 
Because there were company cuts. Shounen Jump has a bad fiscal year and had to draw back from animation quality. Bleach was one of many that suffered. So Bleach couldn't be animated in HD anymore and had to flip to SD.
