Why are the public/media so eager to vilify doctors?

Whenever something goes wrong in the health care system, the media bash doctors. Don't they realise, they're human too?

The media will say and do whatever it takes to get them ratings (and therefore money).

But I understand what you mean. People look up to doctors and see them almost like superheroes because of the fact that people put their lives in their doctor's hands. They trust their doctor to use their knowledge and skills to keep from from getting sick or hurt and to heal them when/if they do get sick or hurt.

So when people see, hear, or read about these "superheroes" (doctors) making big mistakes, they get scared and angry. I don't really understand WHY they think crucifying these doctors in the media is going to help the situation, but I understand why are doing so.

I've always been the kind of person who thinks that everything happens for a reason and that there's a lesson (big or small) to be learned from just about every situation. So of course I recognize that a doctor is no different than me, only that he or she is a heck of a lot smarter than I am when it comes to medical stuff. But, not everyone thinks the same way as you and I do.

Plus, I'm sure some people are just waiting for a chance to jump at someone and yell at them just because they can.

Anyway, that's just my opinion.
