putting effort into your appearance can go a long way. many lesbians care less about how they look than heterosexual girls, don't do their hair and makeup, just wear whatever they feel like, etc, so they don't look as nice. in the same way, that's why there are tons of good-looking gay men out there, cuz unlike many heterosexual men, they put some work into how they look.
