i recently installed avast antivirus, but for some reason everytime i try to access firefox or ie browser i get the 'document contains no data' message, even though i can log into msn messenger. I thought it was a problem with my firewall (I use the windows one that comes with xp) so i tried turning it off, but the same thing still happened. I uninstalled avast and that fixed the problem, but i dont want to browse without a working av program, so why does avast do this,and how can i fix it?
On another note, I tried installing a bought mcafee antivirus, but that wont install unless I can remove all of norton 2008, which is still there even though i uninstalled it!! everytime i try to download the norton removal tool, i just get a box that has no links to download, just a link saying 'update to a higher directory' or something like that, which does nothing.... why??
its really annoying me not having any success with av programs
