WHy cant I save favorites using Internet Explorer 7 in Vista?

I have a pc running vista home premium and internet explorer 7. It keeps on saying destination folder not found. I tried uninstalling internet explorer but couldn't find a link in control panel.. i tried testing ie8 on another pc i own as a test so i can install it on the problem pc but i don't like it at all. any ideas. I ran a virus scan and nothing was found. I also did a system restore to the day i reformatted the hard drive which was recently still no luck.. PLEASE HELP

part of the problem is vista
vista is very unstable
i struggle with it alot
a very high maintaince program
well here,s my weekly routaine
run ad aware
run cc cleaner
do ms update-this I discovered when I lost the ability to get Yahoo mail
delete internet temp files
if you are running yahoo programs you may have to delete that
you might have to delete ie 7 then reinstall
there is no reason or rhyme here
it,s just vista gone a muck
last but not least you may want to run system restore
