Why can't relationships be as easy as riding a bicycle?

this question was inspired by a dream where i was riding a bicycle to try to get to my destination which i know meant trying to make things work to get to my goal of having my relationship work. why can't having a relationship be as easy as riding a bicycle? i think for some people it might be but for some couples it's difficult so why can't making a relationship work be as easy as riding a bicycle? i think it's because people make it so hard on purpose because of bad social models it doesn't have to be so hard. but i feel like my gf is making it hard on purpose because she's a negative person and afraid of any kind of commitment.
 
Riding bicycle isn't easy, you not born can ride it. You need to learn to do it. You need to learn how to balance, so does relationship. You need to understand each other both ways. They need to fill each other needs. And you have to keep going to keep your balance when cycling it.So does the relation, both of people with lots different things have to keep go on to make relationship work.

When you ride a bicycle, it's just you making the decisions.

When you are in a relationship, it's give and take and compromise between two people all the time. Caring for another person in good times and bad is difficult and commitment to one person is difficult when there are so many interesting people out there. Issue of trust and safety are always being evaluated. Many many things must be considered and that takes time and brain power.

I wish relationships were simple. That would be a dream.

You can fall off a bike and get hurt.
Someone can steal your bike.
You bike can break while you're riding it.
The seat will eventually start to smell.
Just like some relationships.
 
Because there are so many different kinds of people in the world.. People always try to make relationships work with people they just aren't compatible with in the long run.
 
the thing is that society has a wrong concept of what love really is and does. Also man are very different from women. Women speak a different language and also us as men. Getting rid of your ego and trying to understand your woman and not women is a good beginning.
I believe relationships require> LOVE, commitment, understanding, patience, communication, prudence, emotions, intelligence, spiritual backgrounds and many other good values.

because we cant always find the right pedals. no matter how determined we are to get into gear!!
 
Because we tend to want to know too much about a persons past and that part haunts us all our lives. The past Skeletons in the Closet need to be buried if you are to move forward in life. If you ever read all the questions, it is some ones past that causes the most breakdowns in a relationship. Knowing some ones past automatically engages the lack of trust in that person.
 
i have been with my boyfriend for about a year and a half and everyone says how do you do it ? The trick is it takes two people that yearn for each other everyday. You need to both feel a need for each other. If you or your partner does not feel this way its not going to work. If you just find yourself fighting constantly its not going to work. you have to wait for the right person cause when it is the right person you will know trust me then people will be asking you how do you do it?
 
Sorry to say but life isn't easy and neither is a relationship. If things were this easy than there would be a lot less problems in the world. Things are complicated and are never easy. It's ok to be confused and lost.

Commitment is a scary thing yes I do agree, but if you find that right person than it makes things so much easier. Don't be afraid of this because it will hold you back in any relationship you ever get in. Once you get into a relationship and it lasts trust me things will get easier. And once things get better and continue to go well for you than it will become as easy as riding a bicycle.

Relationships should NEVER be easy. Ease in a relationship is too dangerous. Relationships that "go-with-the-flow" are actually the most delicate compared to relationships that have disagreements all the time. Why? Because their relationship just seems so 'perfect' or easy that when a bad situation finally hits them, they don't know what to do due to the lack of difficult times they even go through.

So understand, if your relationship is getting hard, try to see it as a good thing that helps build your relationship stronger instead of it being a bad thing.
 
They are, but when u r riding a bike there are a few bump, just like in relationships.
 
Relationships are easy. It just takes some honesty and self sacrifice. Just listen and talk instead of hold grudges. Always be honest.

while u r riding d bicycle u hav got brakes in ur hand..but in a relationship 2 ppl need to put breaks at thier egos.......so u kno which one & y is more simpler
 
I'm feeling the same way. Problems escalate because they can't trust each other, then somebody ends up getting hurt. My ex cheated on me & I'm still not completely over him! I know in my heart that I should be, but it's very hard to just forget about somebody that u loved for some time. A relationships not a test, So i don't know why he had 2 cheat. It bothers me thinking about it. Good Luck w/ ur relationship & I hope it goes better then mine did.(:
