Celebrity Illnesses/Sickness, etc?
There are terminal illnesses that claim the lives of thousands. People we know of, are family and friends, etc.
But what makes me cynical and upset is that anytime someone who is famous, (internet famous, 15-minute famous, whatever...) gets sick or their child gets an illness of some kind - the whole world has to come to a stand still for them....why?
I knew of and have had family members who lost their lives to terminal illnesses and diseases, we did what we could do and in some cases are still struggling emotionally and financially.
When "celebrities" go on TV and weep their eyes out in front of the camera, get all the multi-million dollar deals, etc. Everyone seems willingly to help them versus their own friends and families.

Now that this "Jade Goody" personality is dying of cancer, now the world wants to put on some form of sympathy - like everyone knows her like the back of their hands, in reality they go online and Wikipedia info about her.
- why are we acting like all of a sudden we give a damn?
Another example: Jenny McCarthy - her son is autistic, and many others are parents to children with the same condition - but why with a celebrity once again does a illness/condition/disease get this glamourized spotlight...?
