Why did I have a quiz on my first day in class?

So I'm a young college student and I got a crappy registration date so I couldn't register any decent classes this semester. I missed the first two class meetings because of this and today was literally my FIRST day in the class. A few other student were adding as I did and he still gave EVERYONE a quiz. I'm so stressed because it was worth 20 points and I think I failed. My professor said "he just wants to see where the class is at" whatever that means. We still will be gradedon this and it's NOT fair. He doesn't allow retakes according to the syllabus. What do I do about this? Should I tell my parents?

-A student (hate math tho)
-very stressed
-help!!


Oh and there's NO extra credit in his class! Sucks I know. Sigh
 
hes just seeing how good you are, he needs to know so he knows what to teach you and what level you can work at. this is nothing to worry about.
