...spay complications? My 8month Lab was spayed at our local Humane Society (big mistake) her internal stiches were done poorley and broke loose and created a hernia the size of Orange. After 3 visits to one vet they claimed it was a seronma and drained with no relief. I took her in for a second opion to another vet and was told she had a hernia. He perfomed hernia repair surgey three weeks after her spaying. Thank God I found another Vet that cared enough to do the surgery I am very happy with him. I did research on the meds given to us for post op and found that Rimadyl can cause death now I dont want to give it to her. She is also takingTramadol which is not so bad. Can I not give her the Rimadyl since both appear to be for pain and a antiflammitory. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated we have been throuh hell due to the poor job done and the Humane Society whom told me I was overreacting and should wait it out(she could of died) and by the way remember you signed a waiver with us and if you have any other questions contact your vet. DONT LET THE HUMANE SOCIETY DO SPAYINGTO LARGE DOGS THEY WILL CUT YOUR LOVED ONE UP SEND YOU HOME WITH NO MEDS AND NO RECOURSE. I made a mistake and its has cost me 1000.00 to fix the problems plus the stress I put my best friend through. I am now just trying to keep her comfortable and baby her the best I can but since she is a lab its hard for her to relax so crating her for now is the best option. Its been a long road to recovery and we just long for the dog park and a healthy run.
