Why did William the Conqueror introduce the Feudal system in 1066?

Okay, I have to do an ancient history assignment on feudalism, but to start, I need a hypothesis, and I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty much screwed. I really need help with devising a hypothesis, as to why the feudal system was introduced. It's a multimodal presentation and I'm doing a short film using like army men soldier things haha, I was going to talk a little about introducing william, then talk about the battle of hastings, but the majority of the speech to talk about the feudal system. So, if you have any idea's as to what I can use as a hypothesis.. I will love you forever. JUST SAYIN'. Thank you :)
