Why didn't liberals complain about torture before Bush?

We have been torturing in this country since its inception. Why the silence until recently?
We tortured in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War. Haven't you heard of the Tiger Cage torture sponsored by the US in Vietnam?
During the Civil war both sides tortured POWs in prison camps. Not just at Anderson, but at Camp Douglas as well.
LOL Some of these responses are pretty idyllic. We may have "rules" about not torturing - that doesn't mean we haven't done it. And aren't still doing it just in secret. You all honestly think the government is going to tell the public everything?

I think you will get some people on here who will forget that they(terrorists) torture our people, remember the scene of them dragging dead burned bodies through the street after they killed them, then hanging them from a bridge. And we water board a few of them and these people get all up in arms. Think about it. Whose side are you on, you have to take one side.

since that would have been wrong. if the media had the same mindset during world war two that they had when bush was president, we wouldn't have won

It was not an issue because we were not in the process of torturing people.

Also, the Geneva Convention prohibits cruel and inhumane treatment of detainees.

There was nothing new that the Democrats themselves hadn't already engaged in. The only purpose was to insure that Bush derangement syndrome was perpetuated. For 8 years the Democrat engaged in personal warfare against Bush and never once let morals get in the way of what they wanted. Despite what is claimed by the administration, GITMO is still open and who knows what is still going on. Why have no news media visited since Obama was elected? They have always employed double standards where others were concerned, is this one of those times? You will never know because the administration of transparency has been more like the administration of stone walls and locked doors.

I can't tell you because I wasn't around and would have not approved if I had been.

idk, maybe we and the world did, but the u.s. refused to send our generals to a world court b/c apparently we are 'better' than the rest of the world.

Every politician has two faces and shows them on repeated occasions,,it's the third face that worries me..

Probably because we hadn't done it since the Geneva Convention when W started it.
