Why do Americans complain about taxes, when their taxes are relatively low?

I am Canadian, and I have always wondered how and why Americans complain about taxes... It makes no sense! You have no sales tax in a bunch of states, and in the ones that do have it, its like NOTHING its so small, and your income tax is substantially lower than ours. All countries with a high standard of living have higher taxes, and we in Canada get health care for free as a perk from our higher taxes.
 
Our tax dollars get pocketed by greedy dodgy shady politicians while our country is in dept a lot of our dollars get wasted.

Yeah, we know all about your "free" health care.

But the people living in those countries actually get something out the taxes they pay. The US gets waste and corruption.
