I do not bash Christians online, or anywhere else.
I have no shame or fear connected to my Atheism. I'm very open about my beliefs online as well as in real life, but like I said, I'm not bashing anyone.
I do not think Christians are stupid, nor do I think MLK Jr. was stupid.
I do it in public too. Some guy came up to me and my friends at oktoberfest and proceeded to preach to us and say we were going to hell and needed to repent and take my word, he got an earful.i talk about it in public frequently. I don't think Christians are stupid, there beliefs are stupid. Isaac Newton was a Christian but he was very, very, smart. MLK Jr. was not only smart but just a great man over all.
everyones different in this world u cant go out in public with a sign that would be just wrong. I guess online u can and u wont hav to face the person. Please dont say dumb things about not liking Martin Luther King Jr that doesnt matter i dont not like my friends because they're christian.
Wendy, I don't believe that atheists or agnostics think christians are stupid? I think we are all entitled to believe what we choose and to have our own opinion. Some great leaders have been spiritual and/or religious so I don't believe humans need to be 'tagged' for their beliefs. Some humans are just exceptional human beings who have achieved very good things for humankind.
Listen cobber if you think you can do a better job then try !! I am not scared of what you think you can do to me that hasn't already been tried and i am proud of being an Atheist and all my mates know i am one as i have told them !! So why are you scared of telling people you are a Christian ?
It takes a lot of courage to declare in daily life that one is an Atheist. It can adversely influence job prospects, long held friendships and more. The anonymity of the internet allows atheists free rein to express their feelings, and so it's a popular pastime.
There are of course those who just come here to poke fun at sincere believers. To brand them as atheists would frankly be an insult to conscientious atheists. These people are just rather immature, and making fun of Christians gives them an unwarranted feeling of power. Just ignore them.
I myself am an atheist. So why do I come here? Well, just because I'm an atheist does not stop me wanting to find out more about what other people think, and I am interested about what makes people believe in religion. I try always to be constructive in my criticism and to respect the views of others. I have learned a lot from people here. And yes, the words of some Christians have helped me to modify some of my views. So stick with it. You may be doing more good for your cause than you realize!
