As above. Just curious. I can't understand it and i can't find anything about it on the internet. I am talking, elective cesaerians. What's so wonderful about major surgery?
I think there are fewer of them that are really elective than what the media reports. I'm sure some of them are due to breech babies, or other reasons. But yes, some are purely elective. They can fit it into their busy schedules. They can avoid labor. And yes, they pay for it. I question their doctors' ethical practices, because every other doctor in the rest of the country who practices professionally will not do a c-section unless it's medically indicated.
Not sure, I had a csection granted the surgery went okay ( i lost 2 pints of blood so got really dizzy and lightheaded freaked me out) but the afterwards you are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially when your nerves are trying to reconnect I think that was the worst part it was awful. I didn't get to do the things I wanted to do with my new baby because I hurt so much. It took about 2 weeks for me to feel better. And I still have numb feeling in some parts of my lower abdomen many women do after the surgery. So i'm sure they just ended up having to have one because they needed one. Angelina had one because she had twins, same with j-lo i don't know of any others that had one. The reason i had one was because i ended up with a csection during the inducing (48 hours of inducing and labor) and had very strong contractions and wasn't progressing further thn 5cm and when i had my csection my doctor told me i had a very small pelvic and there is no way i'll be able to deliver normally.
Because when you do an elective cesaerian you can plan it out. You know when it will be done and therefore a lot of celebrities take advantage of that. They have their "busy" lifestyles that they must cater to ya know. haha
I think it's selfish to want a c-section; a baby loses some of it's nutrients that it would normally get from vaginal delivery when it goes through a c-section, so why do it if it's unnecessary?
