Why do chargers heat even if the mobile/camera/laptop is plugged out?

It doesn't make sense to me... You plug charger in the grid, but you don't plug it in the gadget, so there's no electrical current flow right? Then why does it heat? Does it spend power in that way?
 
there is an electrical current somewhere, maybe where you put the end is the reason, i mean the end is touching something conductive. Or it's something else.
 
Because it is still using energy even though the item is not plunged in to it. and yes there is electricity flow in the charger and it does spend power.
