So last quarter I noticed this girl in one of my classes stare at me periodically throughout lecture. She would twirl her hair with her fingers; fidget her legs on her chair, etc. At first I felt flattered and thought about talking to her but never did (too busy with other stuff, school, fraternity, work, and internship to really consider asking her out). Anyways, this quarter I noticed her standing behind me in line at one of the food courts on campus. I started talking to her, we had lunch, got her number. We started texting, got a little awkward later that day when she started trying to tell me the area code of my cell was not the area code for the town I used to live. Why would I lie? you can google area codes, Lol! Anyways, a little later that week I was going out with a few friends to the bars and invited her to tag along. I felt she would probably be down because during lunch she was telling me about how she liked clubbing /drinking in Vegas. She told me she was busy with friends and couldn’t make it.. no big deal. So the following week same time I text her asking her to come have lunch with me so we had lunch but it was really awkward and it kind of seemed like she wanted to get away. I was totally confused because when we first started talking the conversation seemed natural. So after that I decided that I probably wouldn’t be texting her anymore. That next week 3rd week she texted me at the same time we normally had lunch the two weeks before wanting to meet up and before I had time to respond she had already texted me saying she was going to get tutored by a TA instead.
Seemed like she’s acting hard to get, which is a turn off when you barely know the person.
Did she expect me to be texting her like crazy?! In any case, I’ve lost interest in actually getting to know her, just interested in what went wrong.
Oh, and why the awkwardness?!
