Why do Hasidic Jews wear black suits like in the 1800s? I don't think Moses

or Abraham wore that in their day? Why do the Hasidim have to dress like that?
Especially since Jews before that didn't wear that type of clothing, and I'm sure they believed themselves to be in the Covenant with G-d?
