Why Do I Always Disconnect From The Internet?

MY internet connection seems to always dc (disconnect) every 20mins or so, then it auto re-connects. its getting very annoying while im playing online games, what could be causing this problem

i don't use the Ethernet cable because my mums computer doesn't have a port so i connect via the USB cable

I'm with 3G australia on the 15gb plan

I had a similar problem with a different modem. They claimed it needed a firmware update, but replaced it (it was still under warranty) instead.
That didn't work either.
I think it may have something to do with the way the network is configured...
The problem is that networks are so complex that they are like quantum mechanics, everybody talks like they understand what's going on, but nobody actually does.
