Why do I always laugh every time someone gets mad?

Whenever someone seriously gets mad at me and/or starts cursing me out, I always crack a smile because I never take it seriously and I always think they're joking. I always laugh and then I realize that they're actually mad. Why would this be? I never take anyone seriously whenever the second they get mad. I'm talking about when I make a big mistake like if I get into a car accident and its my fault. The other person starts getting irate and i just...don't care. It's not like I do this just to be an ass or prove a point. Is this good? bad? What does this mean?!??!

Well, I'm kind of the same way, but a little different. I tend to laugh when people are mad or being serious with me because I get nervous.

I went to court the other day to pay a traffic ticket, and as the judge was talking to me I was laughing =/

It's just something a lot of people do out of being nervous, I guess.

I think that you are simply trying to make them less mad @ you by smiling. By smiling and laughing, you are throwing them off. If on the other hand, you got mad when they got mad, they would probably only get angrier. But by laughing and smiling, you are making them less mad at you, because its a lot harder to get mad at a smiling, laughing person than it is to get mad at an angry person. I read an interview by 50 cent (the rapper) a long time ago and I still remember it. He said that growing up in the hood, he avoided a lot of trouble by laughing and smiling a lot. He said nobody really wanted to fight him because he was such a pleasant person to be around. Although, it isn't a foolproof strategy; just look at what happened to 50 cent! He got shot 9 times! So, I suggest you keep using your strategy, but also learn how to get mad and assertive when you need to.

By laughing and smiling, its like you are spreading laughter and happiness into the other person's mind. Emotions are contagious and they spread like wildfire. Peace!
