i've had this problem ever since i can remember. everytime i eat meat (pork, chicken, beef) or fish (salmon, cod, sardines) i will get a headache after eating. it will turn into a annoying headache then into a nauseating headache. it's only with these two food products. only meat & fish. is this a health condition or is there a certain enzyme or something my body doesn't like?

please serious & honest answers. (:

(i've tried asking my friends this & they start cracking up when i start up by saying "i get headaches when i eat too much meat...." & yeah. they think i'm being sexual, but i'm talking about meat from ANIMAL MUSCLES!! not the pee pee muscle!! 0:

If this has been an on going thing - I am surprised that you haven't taken the time to go to a doctor or an allergist. It could also be a combination of the spices that are being used, or the method of cooking. Maybe the oven/broiler needs to be cleaned or there is a residue of the cleanser, or the pan that is being used, wasn't cleaned properly, there could be a million and 1 reasons for it, and the cure starts with going to get it checked out by a knowledgable professional.

It may be a migraine from some protein component. Try to
learn about migraine triggers and nutrients to prevent migraine. Try taking a good digestive enzyme supplement when you next eat meat or fish. Just have a bit of meat and the supplement. Make sure that you have enough magnesium in your diet, as some naturopaths give magnesium through IVs for migriane. Also riboflavin is helpful for prevention.

Here is a link to a good article on migraine and it's medical and alternative treatments, see what you think:

I was the same way through high school, so I didn't eat meat until recently. I learned how to cook it so that I could handle it. Different people have different dietary needs, and some people can't process proteins as easily. It can cause constipation, headaches, and plenty of other wonders. My advice is to just not eat it--that's the easiest solution.

But if it's not a solution for you to quit the meat, go ask a doctor. There are different reasons you might not be able to digest meats, and a doctor could potentially give you a prescription to help. ( :
