Why do I keep on having premonitions?

I dont know why but I rarely REM sleep and when I do its usually odd because I deep sleep all the time and Im having these premonitions about things happening like I had a dream about a cat and well Im getting a cat now, when I was in the 6th grade I had a dream about the first day of the 6th grade and everything in the dream happened that day, I had a dream that my hamster had babies and she did, I always have premonitions about storms, tornadoes, hurricanes etc why?

I also had premonition dream like you, but mine was worse. and I still can't get over it. Me too is also confused if what does this kind of dreams means, but don't you think its a good gift that your dreams can predict the future?
