Why do many complain about plants being created before the sun in Genesis 1

when light was created on day #1? In fact, considering that light was the very first "specific" created entity of the Genesis creation account -- and day #1 also mentions the contrast between day and night -- it baffles me that anyone would assume that day #3 plants would be dying off in the supposed darkness because the visible sky events denoting months and years etc. of day #4 were not yet visible. ["In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" which precedes the day #1 account is more of a general summary introducing the topic of Genesis 1 and so that is why I don't consider it the first "specific created entity" in Genesis.] Yet, I keep seeing in this forum and others complaints that the Genesis account of days 3 and 4 represent some sort of ultimate "contradiction" of the Bible. What's the beef?
