Why do men always bring up the draft when discussing feminism?

I hate to be the one to tell them that there is no draft. That went out with second wave feminism. They don't seem to realize there are a lot of very brave women engaged in military service throughout the world.
 
I honestly don't think it's an issue. The draft exists as a fallback in extreme emergency - and when that happens, you will not have to worry about lines of little girls at the draft offices - they will be turned away to make way for the young men who will inevitably bear the burden of national policy.

That last statement should be a wakeup call for your average idiot politician right now! How about a little respect and a little courtesy NOW - and not after you've finished tallying up the casualty lists - again!

As I've said before - in time of national emergency, the draft offices simply don't have the time and the facilities to process a social group 'equally' that will turn up 90%+ of drop-outs. They will be forced by circumstances to concentrate on the best likely outcome - from young men.

This is not to criticise the commitment and contribution of women in the armed forces - just pointing out the reality. Expect that space at the draft office to be filled in the next few years, people! I do!
 
I wouldn't send women off to war......only if they would like too.......lets remember we are not above the evolutionary chain.......men can impregnate a city full of women and have thousands of children withing a year.........a woman can only have one child in 9 months
 
because ALL men, once they graduate, have to kinda apply to be in the military. not so much like a draft just they have to apply but they can always say "ahh no i don't wanna!" and they won't have to

umm guys always bring it up cause guys are dumbasses!
 
They think that it is unfair that men have to sign up for the selective service, and not women.

I think that it is because they want something to complain about. I have not heard one military person discuss this. It is all civilians.
 
As mentioned, the draft is an option. Thousands died in Vietnam and thousands more suffer psychological scarring equivalent or worse than rape would produce.
 
Well when women were supposedly being chained to the stove, back in the bad old days, young Men were being butchered and blown to pieces in a variety of horrific ways. or just permanently scarred from witnessing such things, And yet to you think women back in ww2 and ww1 korea, vietnam were the oppressed ones

but it says to me, Mens sacrifice/suffering was an order of magnitude greater

I actually am a draft supporter, if you are born into a country and benefit from its roads, schools, libraries, infrastructure, protection from criminals, protection from hostile nations,, you owe for that. its that simple. Though conscript armies are generally poor armies, still in an emergency they are better than no army.

I don't knock the women in the videos in the link, I don't think women are geared for something like war. One woman mentions see saw a severed leg after a bombing, and she was mentally harmed by that . I am sorry but the severed limb of a stranger, shouldn't ruin your life if you're a soldier. that's a fact of life in soldiering

Most women can't even handle verbal abuse, let alone a rolling artillery barrage. My freakin landlord is still terrified of loud noises 30yrs after the fire base he was at almost got overran . Normally RPGs don't go off when they hit a man, they just impale him or break a limb he told me. but he saw one rocket skip off of something solid on the ground and hit his platoon sergeant in the chest and detonate . And yet he has made an almost normal life for himself.


Does that sound like something you are going to handle well,?
 
They also seem not to realize a volunteer army would prefer to work with drones and robots than draftees.

Tell them the reistry is just to make it easier ti track them down if they get behind on child support. That riles them too.
 
Are you retarded there is still potential for American males to get drafted. as soon as I was 18 I had to male the government my signature saying if they needed me in the military I'd go. You are forced to do this. And women have the option to join the military they are not forced into it.
 
Well the obvious reason is that the draft is still a legal action the President can take. If feminists really want absolute equality (and I'm not saying thats wrong) they should be demanding to be included for selective service the same as men. Equal rights, equal responsibility.
