So me and my friend reece wanted a spar with another friend and his cousin who both train mma and talk crap about traditional martial arts reece does jow gar and i do shotokan. They were predictable and when they when they went for a takedown we cleaned them up with a simple front kick and they still disrespect traditional martial arts sayimg it was an unfair bout! And they're heaps bigger than us and have had just as must experience so why don't they just respect traditional martial arts.
Not really everyone but i agree about machida he is truly the best i'm talking about people like ortiz who reckons he can beat the hell out of everyone i just wished there was some humility in ufc and mma.

well just about the majority of all the pros and amateurs have studied TMAs when they were younger. so it is all the same stuff just thrown in together. now a days noobs just want to train "UFC"

just ignorant. I'm a mixed martial artist, and believe that modern is better. But you can't forget where you came from so to speak. Meaning that traditional martial arts still have a place and should be respected, and many many actual fighters respect the traditional arts.

your generalizing people. Not all MMA fighters disrespect traditionalists. It's about skill, not style.

It sounds like an isolated incident. Not all MMA fighters disrespect traditional Martial Arts. Just look at Lyoto Machida. The man has a traditional Shotokan background that he incorporated into his MMA training, and with that he is unstoppable.
