It's almost as bad as an insecure teen girl's social life.
It's like, when a person leaves the church, they become a disease, or a creature. Whenever the word "inactive" is said, it's like a cold wind passes through the room, and no one wants to associate with that person, but still want the gossip on them.
I hate going to church. I've been going since the day I was born, and I still don't feel the Holy Spirit, or the overwhelming sense of emotion that's supposed to accompany that revelation.
Truthfully, I think it's bull.
I think it's a competition, of who can cry the most when they bear their testimony. The girls are air headed, the boys are femme, and they're all pretentious, or deeply God fearing... Not to mention Mormon fearing, since it seems most REALLY care about what other Mormons think of them. I think that's why the church does well: they control through fear, vague messages, and grand promises.
