why do most Christians believe that religion and evolution are separate?

I know you are going to quote Genesis here - but hear me out... (I would love to have a logical response)

Is it not possible that God took his time creating us? If he has lived in eternity, than wouldn't one hundred billion years feel just like the next hundred billion years.

Is it not possible that the people who wrote, and compiled the bible (and yes it was people who put pen to paper, and also decided which Gospels would stay and which ones should go) decided that, for brevity, and a lack of any science or historical knowledge, to just compress the creation so they could get to the moral of the story?

Fail. Many Christians accept biological evolution as valid.
